Google Adsense Ousted by Media Purchases

Google Adsense was flaunted as the solution for the small businesses’ advertising needs, and was originally very economical and accessible. Sad to say, that is no longer the case. The reason is the cost per click has risen drastically in the last few years, and is no longer as reasonably priced as it once proclaimed itself to be.

Some people believe that this was caused by the popularity of the advertising media, which has been utilized by many big companies and corporations. They used Adsense to focus on reaching target customers, and were very successful. Unfortunately for the small businessperson, this has shot the price up to an uncomfortable premium and they can no longer afford to use Adsense for their small business.

Many small businesspeople have now focused on a new online advertising strategy: media buying. Media buying is basically buying an amount of advertising space on the more popular websites dedicated to advertising. This is more economical, as the space is far cheaper than Adsense space.

This is not pay per click advertising, but it is simply having your product placed in a visible location on a popular website. It is much cheaper and it does not require the surfer to click on the banner in order to be profitable. It is simply a different means of getting your product known.

If the surfer does click on your ad, then he is redirected to your home page and you can potentially make a sale. It is not the same as pay per click, but is easily as effective an advertising tactic.

If you can create a banner that will attract the attention of those surfing the internet, then you are certain to receive a good amount of traffic to your site. The same is true in reverse, and you could end up losing a lot of money due to a poorly designed banner.

If you can learn how to succeed at this new form of advertising, you could be in for a great growth in publicity and an increase of revenues. It is important to study and get media buying right, but it could be an alternate method of advertising that could benefit your company immensely.
